Yeah! It's the first day of sweater weather in Atlanta! It has been a very long hot summer that has overstayed it's welcome. I played golf on Wednesday and it was 88 degrees! This cooler weather is invited to stay because I need to put away my summer clothes and start wearing my sweaters!
I love fall because it is myfavorite time of the year! In Atlanta the weather is cooling down, the college football flags have been proudly hoisted, and my weekends are spent screaming at the television while wearing college team colors.(Yes, we wear school colors per game. Florida, Clemson, and Wisconsin if you need to know. We don't like to jinx the teams!) I even decorate my porches in a fall and Halloween theme. My porches are used the most in the fall and I have so many faux silk flowers, leaves, pumpkins, and Halloween decor collected from over the years that they need to be displayed for one month before I decorate again for Christmas.
October is my favorite month of the year. The days are cooler and crisp, football games on the weekends, and participating in the annual pink ribbon charity golf tournament supporting breast cancer awareness at my country club in Atlanta.
Hello dear travel buddies! I apologize but I have made a travel video of my Rhine River cruise. I decided not to write a long part 2 of my trip. I realized that part 1: Amsterdam was very lengthy and to write about 6 more days of my trip was just too much! Please enjoy the video and I'll see you soon!
Have you ever accompanied your parents as they check off their bucket list?
I am lucky to have both parents living and we do discuss what they want to see or experience before it's too late.
My father and I were both blessed with airline careers, where we traveled a great deal by air, but rarely by water. He was an avid sailor until his mid 70's but never experienced traveling through Europe by boat.
On his 80th birthday I asked him what else he wanted to experience and he said he wanted to see Europe on a river cruise.
I made the arrangements and spent 7 wonderful days with my father on a Rhine River cruise. I'm so lucky he had it on his bucket list!
